What is Triad?

  • TRIAD is the agreement between law enforcement and social service agencies in Elkhart County and older or retired persons in the community to work together.
  • TRIAD is the concept of cooperation to reduce the criminal and other types of victimization of the elderly.
  • TRIAD is a partnership to address crime issues which affect older citizens and the enhanced delivery of law enforcement services these mature persons.
  • TRIAD was formed in Elkhart County on January 13, 1999 and has had increased participating and awareness ever since.
  • TRIAD was incorporated and achieved not-for-profit status (501-c-3) in 2005.
  • TRIAD needs seniors to work together with law enforcement.  We meet monthly and can use your input.
  • TRIAD needs seniors to donate their time to volunteer within local police departments and social service agencies that serve older adults.  You can learn how these agencies function and help them with daily operations.
  • TRIAD needs you to help us promote TRIAD and to raise awareness of crimes, frauds and other hazards against senior citizens.
  • TRIAD can help if you have a concern, are scared, or confused about a crime or scam that may have happened to you.  We can help. 
    • Have you been a victim of a crime or are you afraid that you are being abused by someone who takes care of you?  We can help. 
    • We can help you make your neighborhood or your home a safer place to live in.  We can help.
    • Just need some answers.  We can help.
